New Phone Number for Tameside Homeless Service

TAMESIDE Homeless Service has been back under council supervision since 1 June. However, as far as users are concerned, the only thing that has changed is the phone number.

The homelessness and housing service operated by Tameside Housing Advice stays at 119-125 Old Street, Ashton, but the new main telephone number is now 0161 342 2700.

Otherwise contact details remain the same, and given the high volume of phone calls, email remains the best way to get the fastest response.

The housing register address is housing.register@tameside.gov.uk and for housing options it is housing.options@tameside.gov.uk

People already using the service will retain the same case officer and receive a letter notifying them of new contact details.

Cllr John Taylor, Tameside Council’s executive member with responsibility for the homeless, said: “I would like to thank Jigsaw Homes who administered the service on our behalf for many years.

“I want to assure everyone using the homeless service, or who may have need of it in the future, that the return to council supervision will not affect or detract from the high level of service they have been used to receiving.

“As far as they’re concerned the only change is the phone number which is now 0161 342 2700.”
